Oceansgate launched

On behalf of Plymouth City Council, William Lean has been jointly instructed with International property consultants, JLL, to market the regeneration scheme which forms part of the South Yard area of Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth recently released by the MoD.

The area has been officially renamed as Oceansgate. As a whole it comprises a total of 35 hectares and is designated as an Enterprise Zone. The initial area being promoted by the Council totals 7.5 hectares and is divided into 3 Phases.

The vision is to bring together marine based businesses to create a world class hub for marine industries, with opportunities for research, innovation and production in a collaborative environment.

Phase 1 will comprise a 3 storey office building and two blocks of industrial style buildings, all of which will be available for letting. Contractors, Midas, have been appointed to carry out the construction of this phase. A detailed Planning Application has been submitted and building works are scheduled to commence in January with completion anticipated for late summer 2017.

Phase 2 will follow after completion of the first Phase and will provide similar accommodation, but also includes part retained as the Devonport Royal Navy Heritage Centre.

Phase 3, which will be marketed separately from the other Phases, includes 3 former dry-docks and adjacent jetties and several large Listed Buildings. This area will be available as a whole or in several parts, dependant on occupier interest.
